Problem:
When the Household (HoH) adds an Access Card to their lock, they need to scan the NFC card using the mobile app. An Android user might have difficulty with this process.
Solution:
1. Not all Android phones support NFC as some manufacturers chose not to include it in their phone. To confirm if the Android phone supports NFC:
a. Open the Settings app.
b. Search for “NFC”.
c. If there is an option to use NFC, make sure it is enabled. If there is no setting for NFC, check the manufacturer’s specific phone model's specifications.
2. The location of the NFC antenna is typically on the back side of the phone, but the user might need to slide a card around on the back until the phone can read the card. Bear in mind that the user's hand holding the phone might be blocking the antenna.
