Passes can be added to Apple Wallet in several ways:
-Add to Apple Wallet from AccessIQ Mobile App
- Add to Apple Wallet from button in the email invitation
- If Apple Wallet pass is removed, it can be added back from AccessIQ Mobile App, go to settings.
- Or, the user can sign into iCloud.com and add/remove passes for their different devices from there.
Adding a pass to Apple Wallet results in the pass potentially being added to multiple devices of the user, not only on the iPhone where the user performs the “Add” function. This is because the pass is being added to the user’s iCloud account and it will be added to the maximum number of iPhones and Apple Watch devices in the user’s account.
- The maximum number of devices for the AccessIQ pass has been defined as follows:
- iPhones: 4
- Apple Watches: 3
If pass wasn't added on Apple Watch:
Express Mode:
Tenants will not need to wake or unlock their iPhone/Apple Watch to use their pass in Apple Wallet.
Express Mode permits access without needing to authenticate which allows for a quick experience.
Users simply hold their device to their AccessIQ lock.
Express Mode is enabled on iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and later. Users who do not have Express Mode enabled on their device can still use an AccessIQ pass in Apple Wallet by opening the Wallet and presenting their device to their AccessIQ lock.
After a pass has been added to Apple Wallet, any changes made to the user’s access will automatically be propagated to the pass. The AccessIQ cloud server communicates with Apple’s Wallet server to maintain access credentials and keep Apple Wallet passes up-to-date with additions or changes.
